Cuba was interesting and different than expected. Our guide was amazing. She did a great job of explaining many different nuances of Havana and Cuba in general.

I was impressed with the Culture, people and scenery. Havana’s architecture of the older buildings was terrific and a photographers paradise. I felt comfortable and never threatened by local people, in fact the locals didn’t seem to even notice the tourists wondering their streets.
Well organized, everything happened on time, when a lunch was not ready on time Rosie, our guide, went to the manager and the kitchen for immediate food. I think the tour was well paced, our time was well organized. Glad the restaurant Cha Cha Chá was substituted for lunch in Havana-excellent food. Liked the selection of restaurants many with local music entertainment for lunch and dinner. Meals offered a great variety of foods.

Having been to many islands in the Caribbean, there was much about Cuba that was familiar. The homes in the rural areas, the friendliness of many people, the cacaphony in the streets, the music, were all much like other Latin countries. What was different were the fabulous cars, since Cuba has been in that time warp, but that time warp has also meant that the once no doubt lovely buildings in Havana Vieja are now wrecks, crumbling monuments to the embargo and the inability to maintain them as they should have been. It was sad to see the destruction, and to think that it may take many more years – and who knows where the will and drive – to put the buildings back to the way they should be.

There was much variety to what we saw, and thankfully, some flexibility in staying a bit longer in some places than was originally planned. The organic farm, the Hemingway house, the Escambray Mountains were all stand outs for me as favorites.

We had the 5-star Cuban experience – the trip was amazing! The people were friendly and welcoming. Their culture is so rich. I urge anyone to go NOW before things start to change. Everything ran smoothly. Our guide Sandor was amazing. He fit right in with our group. The tour was so well planned out. Loved it!

I was really happy to experience the culture the people of Cuba. Loved all the historical sites and to see the progress of the refurbishing of the old town. The four days were fantastic. Roberto was a informed guide, we will be back soon.

Cuba is so interesting, full of contradictions and beauty. As an American from the Midwest, I didn’t know much about Cuban culture. I was surprised by its modernity and felt as if the Cubans are really quite similar to Americans. I liked meeting the people that lived in the country, sharing their thoughts on their lives and their take on world events.

Cuba was more than I expected. The scenery, culture, and architecture are amazing. I wish I had more time to explore. I was very happy with the availability of our tour guide and bus driver. Wish I had more time for shopping and a little more downtime.

I have spent a lot of time in both Caribbean and Latino communities, but Cuba was a unique and fantastic experience. Very welcoming people and fun culture. I don’t normally travel with tour groups and had reservations about traveling around with a group of Americans, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well I enjoyed being with the group and with the Cuba Explorer staff.

Everyone was very nice! I really enjoyed learning about Cuba, it’s people, and the history. As an American, you learn one version of history, and I was really interested to learn more of a holistic view. I really liked visiting Fuster’s house, riding in the classic cars, visiting Hemingway’s house, and Old Havana. I also liked that we got some free time to relax. The meals were excellent!

Wonderful! Everyone was very welcoming, eager to share their story and show what makes Cuba unique. Noberto our guide and Eddie our bus driver were invaluable. I had contemplated not doing a tour and coming solo. In retrospect, I cannot convey how much I would have missed out on without the two of them educating and transporting us to places we would have never seen by just staying in Havana proper. There were no problems at all. It is good to be flexible. The restaurants we went to weren’t all exactly the same on the itinerary they sent us, but it was great with me as I didn’t like one on the first list anyway. Every place you go, you’ll see something unique and learn something new, so just be open to it all. Noberto even adapted the itinerary based on a request from the group.

Cuba is a beautiful place that is in desperate need of restoration and investment. The people were friendly and welcoming, except for the workers at the money exchange. The culture is enjoyable, especially the art museum, music, rum and cigars! The tour guide and bus driver were exceptional! The pace of the activities and logistics were perfect. The activities were varied and gave us a great opportunity to experience the many different parts of Cuba. The restaurants were great with the exception of the all inclusive. Enjoyed the commentary of our guide Ariadna, who truly loves her country and kept us informed, educated and made it fun. The Art museum, organic farm, eco community, truck ride to the top of the mountain, old Havana, Trinidad and the Buena Vista Social Club show were highlights. Your website undersold the tour in the Soviet trucks up to the old coffee plantation – great time and an excellent guide!

My daughter and I enjoyed the trip. We thought most of the local people we met were lovely. The country, while poor, is beautiful. We had a good group; it was relatively small. Our guide was tops, as was our bus driver. We enjoyed learning about the country.

Felt very safe. Friendly, beautiful country. Surprised by how the expensive trip was. As someone who has visited and lived in many countries (Guatemala, Ecuador, Colombia), we were surprised by the tipping culture. Liked the opportunity to experience a culture and lifestyle different from my own. Our Guide, Armando, was very interesting, engaging, and knowledgeable The Cuban people were very friendly, helpful, and eager to share their country with visitors.
